TMUA 2022 past paper
The official 2022 question papers and worked solutions, hosted by UAT-UK and free to download. Each paper is 20 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes, with no calculator and no negative marking.
What is in this sitting
Paper 1 — Applications of Mathematical Knowledge. Familiar A-level content applied to unfamiliar problems. The mathematics itself is rarely beyond the syllabus; the difficulty is in seeing which piece of it a question wants.
Paper 2 — Mathematical Reasoning. Logic and proof: judging whether an argument is valid, finding the flaw in one that is not, working with necessary and sufficient conditions, and reasoning about statements rather than computing answers. Most students find this the less familiar of the two.
Every question is worth the same and there is no negative marking, so a blank and a wrong answer score identically. Always answer.
Practising this paper
Working from the PDF is free and always will be. The catch is that you have to time yourself, mark yourself, and resist reading ahead — and the worked-solutions PDF gives away neighbouring answers the moment you open it.
